We headed off to Orhei Veche in the morning at 8.25 on the local bus for 25 leu ($1,25). The next one would be at 11.00 a.m. so this bus was the best one for us. The bus arrived at Butuceni at 10. The famous limestone church is up the hill so you have to walk up a while. There is a church at the top of the hill and under the bell tower is the limestone church.
Make sure you have suitable clothes for the limestone church. Girls should cover their heads and their legs. They do have headscarves there if you forget. The view from the other side of the limestone church is amazing.

Once we finished with the churches, we continued walking up the hill and continued along the track until we reached Trebujeni. The view along that track was amazing.

Along the route we came across a beautiful horse and goat.
Once we arrived at Trebujeni, we walked through the village to find somewhere to eat. We came across what seemed to be the only restaurant in town, a place called Casa Din Lunca. The grounds has a lovely garden with fresh vegetables growing. For 200 leu each we got a lovely spread (Mămăligă and Zama) and a carafe of white and red homemade wine. The food was really good but we weren’t impressed with the white wine. The place also has accommodation which looked great.
The bus back to Chisinau left at 16.20 from the square in Trebujeni.
So beautiful. That sky!
